Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is pushing for a deal to sign Lyon star Lucas Paqueta, according to Media Foot.
The north Londoners have been heavily linked with a move for Paqueta in recent times and now it is claimed that Arteta is a huge admirer of the Brazilian international, who netted 11 goals and provided a further seven assists across all competitions last season. The Gunners are also said to have a great relationship with Ligue 1 giants Lyon, something that could make negotiating for the player a lot easier.
Paqueta is also said to be keen to leave the French side in the summer transfer window, just two years after joining from Serie A outfit AC Milan whilst Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has claimed that Les Gones have received offers for the 24-year-old this summer. Speaking about the talented playmaker to Goal, Aulas said: "There are offers for him.

"There are some players who can feel fully fulfilled in the project, and others who are not. Economically, we have the means to pursue our ideas and our objectives.
"The coach gave us his opinion and there is also what the players want to do. The mystery remains intact."
If Paqueta was to join the Gunners, he would be the third Brazilian to arrive at the Emirates Stadium in this window, with experienced centre-forward Gabriel Jesus and young winger Marquinhos signing for Arteta's side in recent times.
