Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened the door to Jack Wilshere returning to the club in the future as a coach.
The 30-year-old midfielder, who left the Gunners back in 2018, signed a short term deal with Danish club Aarhus as he aims to get his footballing career back on track.
Wilshere was without a club since last summer after being released by Bournemouth and he was training at London Colney with Arteta and the Arsenal squad in order to improve his fitness levels.
Now, though, the former England international is in Denmark to try and play regular football again, but Arteta admitted that he will return to the club one day.
He said: "First of all, thanks for all the time he has been with us. It has been an absolute pleasure to have him back, to enjoy watching him play again and having him around, the inspiration he is for all of the young people.
"And hopefully we have helped him a bit because he had some doubts whether to start coaching or to continue playing.
"I think this group of players have given him that necessity to feel again on a daily basis how magnificent it is to feel like a football player.
"And I think he wants to experience that again and we wish him the best of luck.
"Will he return to Arsenal in a coaching capacity? 100%. Everybody at the club will be willing to open the doors for him and try to find a role for him that can work for everybody.
"I think that will happen naturally in the future."
Wilshere has signed a contract with Aarhus until the end of the season, and the former Arsenal man, when speaking to talkSPORT at the weekend, revealed how excited he is for the new challenge in his career.
He said: "I'm feeling good, I flew over here this morning [speaking on Sunday].
"We've been talking a few days and now I've seen the training ground and the stadium and it just felt right. I'm here and I'm ready.
"The main thing was how much they wanted me. To be wanted by a club, they were desperate to get me in, I met all the staff and they were all really positive. I haven't met the other players yet.
"The fact I'm coming here to play, I've been training with Arsenal for what feels like forever, and the training has been good, but nothing beats playing."
