Mikel Arteta has revealed how Mauricio Pochettino is his “football father” - but the Arsenal boss insisted he could never have joined him at Tottenham.
Former Arsenal captain Arteta joined Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff at Manchester City when he retired as a player in 2016. But Arteta was also heavily linked with linking up with Pochettino’s coaching staff when his former Paris Saint-Germain team mate was in charge at Tottenham.
Arteta became friendly with Pochettino when the two of them were together as players at PSG and there remains a strong bond between the pair. However, Arteta says he could never have crossed the North London divide despite his “extraordinary relationship” with Pochettino.
