Jets quarterback Mike White is set to have scans on his fractured ribs Monday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The hope is that White can be cleared for contact and return to the starting lineup for Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks.
If White is not cleared, Rapoport says do not be surprised if Zach Wilson remains the starter next week. As Rapoport notes, “Robert Saleh was telling the truth. He didn’t bench Zach Wilson, he put Chris Streveler in for sort of a Taysom Hill-type package, ended up sticking with him. Either way, do not be surprised if we see Zach Wilson again next week.”
ESPN’s Rich Cimini also made an interesting point on Twitter. Regardless of the results of White’s scans, the Jets will have a decision to make at the quarterback position.
As noted on air, White will get rib scan Monday. Multiple choice QB decision for Wk 17:
If White is cleared:
A. Start White (Need a W)
B. Start Wilson (o/s eval purposes)
C. Start FlaccoIf White is not cleared:
A. Start Wilson
B. Start FlaccoUse Strev package in any scenario https://t.co/MtywOlwxLo

Monday could be quite telling for the final two weeks of the season.
