Diontae Johnson spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was traded in the offseason to the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers recently traded Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens.
From 2020 – 2022, Johnson recorded over 85 receptions in each season with the Steelers. However, he became the number two wide receiver, with George Pickens taking over the WR1 role last season.
Diontae Johnson will suit up for the Baltimore Ravens and return to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers in week 11. This is a massive divisional contest with the Steelers being 7-2 and the Ravens being 7-3.
Mike Tomlin discussed Diontae Johnson in his press conference on Tuesday.
Below, we examine Mike Tomlin’s comments regarding Diontae Johnson.
Mike Tomlin Comments On Diontae Johnson
Mike Tomlin discussed Diontae Johnson’s return to Pittsburgh in week 11.
When asked about the former Steelers’ WR, Tomlin stated “To be honest with you, I haven’t thought a lot about him,” Tomlin said. “He’s not on a lot of their video, and so at this stage of the week, I don’t know that I’ve weighed what he might mean to the matchup. They’ve got more significant pieces with larger roles that occupy my attention at this part of the week.”

Tomlin’s comments can be taken in many ways.
Some will say this is just Tomlin being Tomlin, trying to downplay his return and make it more about how big the contest is.
Others will say Tomlin is taking a jab at the former Steelers WR, implying he will not be much of a factor in the game.
Tomlin’s comments are correct. Diontae Johnson has not done much with the Ravens. Johnson has just one catch for six yards since joining Baltimore. So, there truly is not much film to go off of with his time with Baltimore. However, Tomlin knows Diontae Johnson well from his time with the Steelers. So, Tomlin does have a lot of film to go by.
Johnson will want to be much more involved this week as he returns to Pittsburgh in a massive showdown.
