Mike Tindall's savage joke about Princess Eugenie's outfit for royal outing

Mike Tindall is a much-loved member of the Royal Family who has built a reputation for his cheeky lines and pranks.

The former England rugby pro married the late Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall in 2011 and the pair now have children, Mia, Lena and Lucas Tindall. Mike often provides updates on his family when speaking on his podcast 'The Good, The Bad and The Rugby', sharing sweet stories about life behind Palace walls.

As well as this, Mike frequently shares pictures with his 204k followers on Instagram, often poking fun at himself or his loved ones.

During the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee earlier this year, Mike saw his royal fanbase grow thanks to his informal content and behind the scenes photos.

But one of his funniest posts related to Zara and Princess Eugenie's brightly coloured outfits for the Service of Thanksgiving, comparing them to Starburst sweets.

Alongside comparison pictures of pink and orange sweets, Mike wrote the caption: "When you combine your favourite Starbursts!! 2 world class ladies!! #starburst #platinumjubilee."

While the post had fans in stitches, nothing quite beat the snaps he shared of him modelling Zara's hats and fascinators for the four-day long celebrations.

The first photo was taken after the Trooping the Colour Parade, with Mike posing with Zara's bright red fascinator that served as a fashionable pairing with his matching red tie.

Royal fans were quick to express their thoughts on the funny look, one said: "It's the serious look on his face for me, while at the same time not taking himself seriously at all. Genius"

Following the success, Mike posed in Zara's fuchsia hat on the second day of the jubilee, which left fans saying: "I’m loving the way Mike is wearing ties that match the colour of Zara’s outfits."

Zara got involved for the day three photo, trying on her hubby's top hat while he wore her blue fascinator.

Mike spoke out on his podcast about the events of the Platinum Jubilee and addressed the many memorable moments that Prince Louis provided us with.

He told his co-hosts: "Louis, he was just wanting to have fun. And my two are always mischievous so it's trying to keep a lid on. There were a lot of sweets out back though, so there was a real sugar high."

Mike dedicated a special episode of his podcast to the late Queen and revealed the regrets he has following her death.

Speaking to his co-hosts, Mike revealed: "I first met her in 1992 when I was at school, because I was at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, and it was our 400 [year] anniversary so she came to the school. I was in a science class when she came in. We got to say hello to her then."

Mike was asked if he now realised how lucky he had been to be able to spend one-on-one time with The Queen, to which he replied: "I do. But I also have loads of regrets. Loads of regrets about not asking her so many more things. Having nervousness when you sit down to talk… that lucky seat and being sat next to her."
