Mike Tindall pays second emotional tribute to Queen - featuring tearful corgi

Mike Tindall has paid a second emotional tribute to his wife's grandmother The Queen.

The former rugby player took to Instagram to share a beautiful sketch of a crying corgi sitting next to the Imperial Crown.

It comes after he shared a stunning image showing a photo of the late Monarch being projected onto the Sydney Opera House.

The moving picture was originally published by The Sydney Morning Herald with the caption: "We are well-used to seeing the Sydney Opera House illuminated to mark significant events, but tonight’s image is above and beyond. The sails have been illuminated to pay respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II."

So far only King Charles and Princes William and Harry have released statements in tribute to the Queen, with more expected in the coming days.

However members of the family have carried out walkabouts in Balmoral, Windsor and London to see floral tributes left in her memory.

Mike married into the royal family in June 2011 after meeting the Queen's oldest granddaughter Zara at a bar in Sydney in 2003.

Prince Harry introduced them while they were all in Australia for Rugby World Cup.

During an interview with The Telegraph last year, Mike praised the Queen and described her as "an amazing woman".

He said: "I can only say how kind they’ve been to me, and how welcoming they’ve been to me since joining the family. And how they’ve made my family welcome.

"I’ve always felt part of it and I think that’s down to what an amazing woman the Queen is. They’re a fantastic family."

The Queen was often seen with the Tindalls at racing events and have been photographed chatting and joking at Royal Ascot over the years.

Back in 2019 Mike made the Monarch chuckle when he showed her what he was hiding under his top hat at the annual event.

Looking very smart in full tails, Mike took off his hat as he greeted the Queen - but he then surprised everyone by pulling something out of it.

She looks a tad unsure at first, but after he makes a quick comment (we imagine it's some sort of explanation) she starts to giggle and Princess Beatrice does the same.expectedMike later explained what happened to royal expert Camilla Tominey, revealing that the item was a gift for his daughter.

"It is a chocolate hat that I am taking home for my daughter Mia," he said. "I was given it at lunch but it is really annoying to store in a pocket so I decided to put it in my top hat instead."

As for whether Her Maj found this funny, when asked this Tindall replied: "They are your words, not mine!"
