Mike McDaniel jokingly clarified whether his new Dolphins RB was actually fast on a phone call

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel might be the funniest coach in the entire league.

Whether he’s cracking a joke about the pending Washington Commanders sale or hilariously reacting to seeing himself on television during the NFL combine, McDaniel knows how to strike the funny bone as well as anyone in his position.

As he called speedy Dolphins third-round running back Devon Achane on Friday night, McDaniel asked Achane if he was still fast.

Achane ran a 4.32 at the combine and is known for his electric speed on the field, so y’know, McDaniel couldn’t help but get a little joke in during the draft call.

As you could imagine, Miami drafted Achane in part for his blistering speed, and he should be a fascinating cog in the Dolphins offense this fall and in the years to come.

McDaniel also found the perfect joke to welcome Achane to the Dolphins with, continuing his run as the NFL’s best coach-comedian combo.
