Midlothian police race to local village amid reports of 12-year-old seen carrying knife

Police in the Lothians raced to a Midlothian village on Sunday (May 1) after reports of a child carrying a knife.

Officers confirmed they had been called out at the weekend to Gorebridge after being informed a 12-year-old boy had been carrying the weapon.

Eyewitnesses in Gorebridge at the time had claimed the boy had been travelling alone through the area, and had ‘pulled the blade out’ on several occasions.
