Scottish killer Luke Mitchell is set to make another bid to be released from prison after a petition to see him freed reached 25,000 signatures.
The 31-year-old has always maintained his innocence after he was convicted in 2005 for the murder of his girlfriend Jodi Jones, after her body was found in woodland near Dalkeith in 2003.
Sentenced to at least 20 years in prison, Mitchell's legal team are reported to be putting together a freedom bid that will be handed to the Scottish Parliament next week.
