Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed, Donald Trump and Iranian state media confirmed, after the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran, plunging the region deeper into chaos.

Khamenei was killed while he was working in his office at his compound in Tehran, according to Iranian state media.
