'Middle-aged' Love Island to launch on ITV with 'normal' people on programme

A brand new show similar to ITV2's popular dating show, Love Island, is reportedly set to launch this year.

ITV is reporting that they will launch the brand new series, which is a 'middle-aged Love Island for people with normal bodies', reports BirminghamLive.

A source revealed to The Sun: "Times change and the current generation in their 40s and 50s still care about how they look, are fit and healthy, into fashion and are ready to let their hair down."

This show will apparently come at the same time as two series of Love Island in 2023. There will be the regular summer version of the dating series, but the South African villa will make a comeback for a Winter edition of the show.

The sourced explained: "“This show will give those who settled down young a second chance at love while they still feel in their prime.

“And, let’s face it, they know their minds, will be capable of intelligent conversation and are likely to be much more adventurous — all ingredients regular Love Island sometimes lacks.”

Fans have been clamouring for a more diverse Love Island for years, and ITV seem to have delivered on their promise. We wonder if the new Love Island will be a success?

Love Island resumes on Thursday, July 21 at 9pm on ITV2. Episodes are available for catch up on the ITV Hub.
