The Xbox Backwards Compatibility initiative Microsoft began in 2015 turned out to be one of the firm's biggest advantages in the gaming business, with countless longtime fans being extremely appreciative of the ability to carry their library of original Xbox and Xbox 360 titles forward to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S families of consoles.
