Micron, the trillion-dollar memory company, refused to replace a crucial drive for current market value until Reddit got mad

With the memory crisis only continuing to get worse, a PC gamer's fear right now is likely their memory, storage or GPU borking, and needing to spend an inflated price to replace it. One such Redditor had an external drive die in just one year, and Crucial only offered a refund of the original price they paid, which was a lot less than similar drives go for now. That was until they brought their problems to Reddit.

Over on the PCMR subreddit, user CarefulMeasurement99 shared that they bought a 4 TB Crucial drive a year ago for $200, and when it broke, Crucial offered that original price in a refund. That same drive seems to fetch up to $800 now (thanks, AI).
