Mick Jagger explores Madrid with Rolling Stones bandmates as they reunite ahead of tour

Sir Mick Jagger takes in the sites in Madrid as the band prepare to start their tour.

The 78-year-old Rolling Stone shared pictures of him in the Spanish capital, writing: “Enjoying what it has to offer, fallen angels to flamenco.”

Meanwhile, Keith Richards said he is surprised the Rolling Stones have stayed together for 60 years, likening it to a marriage.

The guitarist, 78, also admitted he managed to survive his legendary drug excesses because “life is
too interesting to die”.

Richards was speaking ahead of the band kicking off new European tour SIXTY in Madrid, celebrating 60 years together.

He said: “That’s a hell of a long time. How do you do that? It’s kind of like marriage in a way.”

Keith was thrilled to be on stage last night at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium alongside frontman Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood, with Steve Jor- dan replac-ing the late Charlie Watts on drums. Ronnie celebrated his 75th birthday on stage following a tea party with his family.

The Mirror told yesterday how he feels “reborn” after giving up booze and drugs and bringing up young twins.

Show designer Patrick Woodroffe said the stage has 100m of runways for Jagger to dance along and they will show support for Ukraine. The Stones play Liverpool FC’s Anfield stadium on June 9 and the BST Hyde Park festival on June 26 and July 3.

It is 60 years on from their first gig at the Marquee Club in London’s West End.
