Michigan State hockey is entering the third season of the Adam Nightingale era with MSU. Coming off of a season that saw the Spartans win both a Big Ten regular season and tournament championship, but ending in a disappointing loss to Michigan in the NCAA Tournament.
The Spartans will be looking to continue the success they had a year ago, but end the season in the Frozen Four, where they wanted to be last year.
Before the season begins on Oct. 4 with the Spartans traveling to face Lake Superior State, the first rankings have been released by USCHO. The Spartans checked in at No. 4.
