Adam Nightingale has struck gold once again on the recruiting trail, this time bringing Michigan State hockey their goalie of the future. The Spartans have picked up the commitment of Melvin Strahl, a 2005-born goaltender.
Strahl is a native of Sollefteå, Sweden, and was a 5th round draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2023. He currently plays in the USHL for the Youngstown Phantoms where he possesses a 2.52 goals against average while bolstering a .910 save percentage.
The 6-foot-3, 180 pound goalie will join current Spartan backup goalie Luca Di Pasquo as the presumed heir apparent to Trey Augustine.

As a 2005, Spartan fans should expect the goalie on campus next season.
