Michigan State basketball at Iowa: Stream, broadcast info, three things to watch, prediction

Michigan State basketball heads to Iowa in an important Big Ten matchup on Saturday, and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

Michigan State is looking to pick up its second straight impressive win this week, following a victory over Indiana on Tuesday. The Spartans have won three of their last four games, and now sit at 17-10 overall and 9-7 in Big Ten play this year.

Iowa is in a different spot at the moment, with losses in back-to-back games and three of their last five matchups. Each of those losses came on the road, however, with Iowa having won seven straight home games dating back to late December. Iowa is 17-11 overall and 9-8 in conference play this year.

Three Things to Watch

Here are three things to watch out for in this matchup between Michigan State and Iowa:

Keeping up with Iowa’s offense: At home, Iowa has one of the best offenses in the country. On the road is a different story — as we saw earlier this year at the Breslin Center — but don’t let that fool you into thinking Michigan State will be able to lock down the Hawkeyes defensively. The Spartans will need to bring their best offensive effort to keep up in this one.

Battle of guards: Michigan State has been dependent on its guards all season long and that was even more noticeable in Tuesday’s victory over Indiana. The Spartans’ starting backcourt combined for 49 points and while they may not need to contribute that much again in this matchup, they’ll still need to play strong and efficient ball on both ends to pick up the victory.

Better job defending the post: Filip Rebraca had his way against the Spartans in the post, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Rebraca has been solid for the Hawkeyes this year but Michigan State will not be content with letting him have that kind of performance again on Saturday.

Game Prediction

Prediction: Iowa 80, MSU 75

Michigan State is coming off one of its best wins of the year earlier this week, while Iowa has suffered a pair of disappointing losses in the past week. But the Hawkeyes are a different animal at home this year, and I don’t think the Spartans will have enough consistency on the offensive end to keep up.
