Michigan State baseball took what seemingly was thought to be a big blow when left-handed ace pitcher Joe Dzierwa announced that he was transferring from the program. He had since committed to SEC baseball powerhouse Vanderbilt.
That will no longer be the case, though, as it has been announced that Dzierwa is withdrawing from the portal, and returning to East Lansing for another season.
Dzierwa earned All-B1G honors in his two seasons with MSU, where he posted an 11-6 record, with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.282 WHIP. He has been a workhorse for the Spartans, throwing 136 innings in two seasons.
Some notable Transfer Portal news. @64Analytics alluded to this information earlier. @MSUBaseball LHP Joe Dzierwa, who was committed to Vanderbilt out of the portal, withdrew from the portal and is now headed back to East Lansing for another season. Huge news for Sparty.
