- Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran ’s remaining U.S. shows after he made on-stage comments supporting Palestine .
- In a statement on Instagram, Macklemore, who was born Benjamin Haggerty, claimed that Sheeran had told him that Robert Kraft personally called the singer to inform him that the rapper would not be allowed to perform at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts.
- Dearborn Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud invited Macklemore to perform a free concert in the Detroit, Michigan , suburb.
- “If they don’t want you performing in their stadiums, you’re always welcome in Dearborn. Come put on a show here. We’ll make it a free concert, sponsored by the City, and help make it one of the best around. We stand with you and for a free Palestine. Let’s make it happen,” Hammoud said.
- The rapper said that he did not blame Sheeran personally for removing him from the tour, saying the “Shape of You” singer was put in a “f***ed up position.”
