TRENTON, Mich. (AP) — Michigan Democrats are facing a crucial election that could determine the future of state government in the critical swing state. Following their historic sweep in the 2022 midterms, Democrats gained control of both chambers of the Legislature and the governor's office for the first time in nearly four decades.
While the state Senate is not on the ballot this Tuesday, Democrats risk losing their two-seat majority in the state House, potentially hindering Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's ability to advance her agenda in the final two years of her term.
