Everything Everywhere All at Once star Michelle Yeoh capped her stellar awards season with the Best Actress Oscar.
After winning numerous accolades for her performance in the film, Yeoh won her first Academy Award on Sunday night and became only the second woman of color to ever win the Best Actress trophy.
She is also the first Asian woman to ever win the award.
To make the moment that much more powerful, Oscar winner Halle Berry gave Yeoh the trophy. Berry was the first woman of color to win the award more than 20 years ago for her role in Monster’s Ball.
Yeoh spoke to the historic moment by mentioning how the victory would inspire people across the globe.
