Michelle Williams has confirmed she is pregnant with her third child.
The actress, who originally shot to fame on TV series Dawson’s Creek, showed off her blossoming baby bump in the latest issue of Variety magazine.
This will be the 41-year-old’s second child with husband Thomas Kail, 44, after they welcomed son Hart in 2020.
She is also mother to 16-year-old daughter Matilda whose father is the late actor Heath Ledger.
“It’s totally joyous,” she told the outlet about her latest pregnancy.
“As the years go on, you sort of wonder what they might hold for you or not hold for you. It’s exciting to discover that something you want again and again, is available one more time. That good fortune is not lost on me or my family.”
Sparks flew when Williams and director Kail met while working together on miniseries Fosse/Verdon in 2018.
They got engaged in autumn 2019 and then secretly got married in March 2020 before welcoming their son during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Reflecting on the experience of giving birth during lockdown, she said: “It was a reminder that life goes on. The world we brought a baby into is not the world we thought we were bringing a baby into, but the baby is ignorant of that.
“He experiences the unmitigated joy of discovery and the happiness of a loving home.”
The Oscar nominated star said being a mother has made her a more “committed” actress.
She does, however, intend to take time out from her career while pregnant.
