Michelle Keegan had to laugh as she says she was 'humbled' by one of her family members after they sent her a picture of herself looking completely different during her days on Coronation Street. The Stockport-born actress shot to fame after landing a role on the Salford-based soap back in 2008.
She bagged the role of Tina McIntyre in the long-running soap aged 20, beating hundreds of others to the role. Michelle arrived on the cobbles when Tina had a chance encounter with David Platt while visiting the Rosamund Street Medical Centre. The pair soon started dating and within a week of the relationship, she had sex with David and fell pregnant before seeking Gail Platt's advice and having a private abortion.
David found out but their relationship survived when Tina aborted David's child, but when he pressured her to commit perjury to put away his rival Gary Windass, Tina chose to exonerate Gary and finish her relationship with David instead. But Tina's involvement with the Platts didn't end due to her dad, Joe, being married to Gail.
However, his death in a boating accident after he tried to fake his own death- for which Tina blamed Gail - caused Tina to spiral into depression. She later actred as a surrogate for Gary and Izzy Armstrong, giving birth to Jake the following year. But the pregnancy put strain on her relationship with Tommy Duckworth, and he eventually left her when Tina put David up out of loyalty when his wife Kylie kicked him out.
Tina was also involved in an on-off affair with the much older Peter Barlow, and believed his promise to leave Weatherfield with her and dump his wife Carla. But after being cast aside by Peter, Tina got into a confrontation with Rob Donovan and threatened to report him to the authorities about his dodgy dealings. Tina was then pushed off the balcony of the Builder's Yard and beaten unconscious by Rob in an attempt to silence her, and later died in hospital, leading to Michelle's exit in 2014.
On Thursday, Michelle, who has since gone on to star in the likes of BBC's Our Girl and Sky Comedy Brassic, took to Instagram with a screenshot of a conversation with her brother Andrew. The message, sent at 8am, featured a snap of a younger Michelle from her time on the ITV soap, complete with her iconic hopped earrings.
"Morning," her sibling then added. While Michelle's response to her brother wasn't seen, she shared a screenshot to her Instagram Story and typed alongside it: "No one humbles you like your family."
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old showed off her new shorter brunette locks in a snap supporting this year's Red Nose Day. Michelle, who is married to former TOWIE star Mark Wright, could be seen sporting one of the newly-designed red noses as she posed for the camera with her head resting on her hand and her blonde-tinted locks tied in a half-up half-down style.
