Fans of of the long-running dating show Love Island are excited to have been treated to a blast of sunshine in the form of the line-up for the new winter series. There's only a week to go before Love Island returns to our screens and the matchmaking show is back with its second winter edition set in South Africa.
The dating show will be back on television screens on Monday, January 16 with new host, TV and radio presenter Maya Jama taking from Laura Whitmore who announced she was stepping down in August after the end of the 2022 summer series. For the first time, contestants this series have to disable their social media accounts during their time on the show in a bid to protect both them and their families from online abuse.
And after the new line-up was revealed, one famous supporter announced that she was getting behind one of the contestants. Former Coronation Street and Our Girl actress Michelle Keegan is cheering on celebrity makeup artist Lana Jenkins, 25, who has worked with her on the Sky comedy drama Brassic.

Michelle, who plays Erin Croft in Brassic, took to her Instagram to share one of Lana's Love Island promo snaps. The star, who shot to fame as Tina McIntyre in Corrie, said she's "one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet."
"So our girl @lanajenkinss is going into @loveisland," she wrote. "Genuinely one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet." Adding words of encouragement Michelle, 35, from Stockport, told Lana: "Go and smash it darlin."
Lana, from Luton, ahead of her stint in the villa, confessed to 'falling in love quickly'. She said: "I tend to know quite soon if I could fall in love with that person and then, as long as everything is going well, I’ll probably tell them I love them in about a week."
Asked what her claim to fame is, Lana added: "In my work as a makeup artist I’ve worked with lots of celebrities. Also, when I was six-years-old I used to live in Spain and I was in an episode of Benidorm as an extra."
Lana is Michelle's second link to the show after it was revealed that her body double will also be stepping into the TV villa. Ring girl and actress Olivia Hawkins has never been in a relationship but is now "ready to settle down and hopefully find the love of my life."
The 27-year-old, from Brighton, said about her claims to fame: "I did a film with Jason Statham and had a nice 10-minute convo about life," she revealed. "I've been a ring girl for KSI, I played a waitress in James Bond with Daniel Craig and I’ve also been a body double for Michelle Keegan and Emma Watson."
