Former Liberty X star Michelle Heaton has opened up about a drugs and alcohol addiction that saw her rushed to hospital.
The 43-year-old said it was "not the first or last" time she was admitted to hospital due to her active addiction. In a brave and honest Instagram post the mum-of-two admitted she left the hospital, only to walk straight to an off-licence to buy more vodka.
Michelle now has two years sober, and earlier this year she told Loose Women viewers that doctors at one point told her she was days from death. She recalled being incredibly unwell, with translucent skin as doctors gave her the harrowing news.

Thankfully, Michelle has now made huge steps in her recovery. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared snaps of herself at her lowest points. Explaining why she felt she should be open about her experiences, she said: "2 years ago this was me .. I was admitted to hospital, not for the first or the last time.
"I had collapsed in active addiction. I left the hospital the next day, I walked over to the off-licence and bought more vodka.
"Seems insane? It is! But it was the only way I knew how to live. So I thought. I swore to my peers, family and doctors I was on the mend. I meant it. But my mind of an addict had a different plan.
"New year is a time we all make goals, and resolutions. Why don’t you make your goal to reach out to someone like me? I turned it down so many times, so don’t be discouraged if they say no. The day will come when they’ve just had enough.
"If you or anyone you know is struggling help is out there."
