Two new restaurants in the capital have been awarded Michelin Stars as part of the influential guide's awards for 2023.
Established Edinburgh chef James Murray of Timberyard and rising stars Tomás Gormley and Sam Yorke of Heron in Leith were delighted to have been awarded with the prestigious star.
The three chefs were pictured on stage together at the announcement for the Michelin Guide Ceremony on Monday evening (March 27), where 20 restaurants were newly awarded One Michelin Star.
Posting on the Heron Facebook page, an ecstatic Tomás and Sam, wrote: "We’re delighted to announce we have been awarded One Michelin Star by the Michelin guide.

"This award goes to our whole team and we’re grateful for the recognition of the work we see every day.
"To all our guests and staff, past and present, thank you for helping to make this place the truly special place that it is."
The news follows the announcement that Edinburgh, and Scotland as a whole, received no new Bib Gourmands for 2023.
Edinburgh now has five Michelin Stars as of the 2023 guide:
Timberyard, Edinburgh – New
