A Michelin restaurant is calling on two men to pay up amid claims they failed to pay a £150 bill. According to Muse in Yarm on Teesside the pair ate their meal then walked out.
The restaurant, which features in the coveted Michelin Guide, claimed in a Facebook post the pair had eaten at the venue on Thursday then "just got up and left". But the owner said he was simply asking for them to pay the bill otherwise he would go to the police.
The post also said they were not wanting to cause a fuss. It added: "We just want the bill settled", according to Teesside Live.
According to the post, published on Friday, the two men ate at the restaurant at about 8.25pm the previous evening. They were also issued with a deadline to pay up before further action was taken.
It said: "Please can the two guys that just got up and left without paying their £150 bill at 8.25pm on Thursday 19th May please contact us. We just want the bill settled so we don’t have to take this matter any further.
"We don’t really want to make a fuss so give us a call on 01642 788558. If anyone recognizes them please urge them to get in touch to settle the bill.
"If we have not received payment by 12 noon Saturday we will be informing the police." The post has been shared more than 500 times with many posters sympathising with the business while others suggested it is time restaurants make people pay before eating or take a card to secure later payment.
