Inspectors for the prestigious Michelin Guide have shared their favourite new UK restaurants in June. They have named 11 restaurants including some with Armenian, Spanish, Italian and Japanese culinary influences.
The inspectors are on the road all year round, assessing existing restaurants. They are also on a mission to uncover new ones worthy of recommendation in the Michelin Guide covering Great Britain and Ireland.
Michelin Stars, Green Stars and Bib Gourmands are only revealed at the annual Michelin Guide Ceremony but inspectors add new favourites to their selections all year-round. These new restaurants are released every month.
Their picks for June 2023 all "showcase high quality cooking across a range of styles and budgets", the Guide says. They include Dill, an "intimate bistro" in the East Sussex town of Lewes and Knipe Grill at Gilpin Lake House in Bowness-on-Windermere, which serves modern British cuisine - saying to expect "steaks, pork chops and whole fish on the bone, alongside well-pitched service".
Tapas bar Plates by Purnell's in Birmingham also gets a mention. Meanwhile three restaurants in London are included - Hawthorn, Lusin and Mayha.
