A number of Dublin restaurants have been awarded Michelin Stars as the full list of 2022 was announced.
Two Dublin restaurants have been awarded an incredible two stars..
Chapter One by Mickael Viljanen at Parnell Square was awarded two stars this year as it was praised by the Michelin Guide for its "sophisticated dishes" that boast "striking natural flavours".
Additionally, Liath in Blackrock in South County Dublin was awarded two stars.
Meanwhile Patrick Guilbaud at Merrion Square retained its two stars.
Awarded one star this year was Glover's Alley by Andy McFadden at St Stephen's Green. The Michelin Guide recognised this spot for its "creative dishes characterised by intense flavours and textures".
Bastible at Leonard's Corner, South Circular Road was also awarded one Michelin Star, with the guide describing it as a place where "the generous cooking comes from the heart".
Among the restaurants retaining one Michelin Star is Variety Jones on Thomas Street in The Liberties as well as 11 other restaurants around the country.
Chapter One took to social media to celebrate the news of their two Michelin Stars, explaining that the whole team is feeling "humbled and honoured to achieve two-star status" within six months of opening.
They added: "Massive thank you to all our amazing customers and suppliers who have made it possible for us to achieve this.
"It is a very proud day indeed for the Northside."
Liath also took to Instagram to celebrate the news, writing: "Seven People, One Team, Two Stars. Thank you."
Announcing the awarded restaurants for 2022, The Michelin Guide said that this year "is made even more momentous by the impressive number of new Stars in this year’s selection.
"With 1 new Three Star, 5 new Two Stars and 19 new One Stars joining the selection, the 2022 Guide offers an impressive illustration of the vibrancy, creativity and excellence of the British and Irish culinary scenes."
International Director of the Michelin Guides Gwendal Poullennec said: "To award so many new Stars this year, including one new Three Star, is testament to the determination and resilience of those working in the hospitality industry – not just the chefs, but those involved at every level."
