Michael Stewart reckons it could be a case of double or nothing for Rangers as they get set for two massive cup finals in a week.
The Ibrox side travel to Seville this week as they get set to face Eintracht Frankfurt with Europa League glory on the line.
It's a brutal turnaround after that as they then have just two days to prepare for Saturday's clash with Hearts at the national stadium.
Domestically it's been a disappointing season for Gio van Bronckhorst but they can end it with immortality if they secure a cup double.
Stewart though reckons it all hinges on the clash with Frankfurt in Seville.
He believes a Rangers win there would carry them through on a high with the buzz from that enough to see off Hearts.
On the flipside though the former Tynecastle midfielder reckons defeat in Spain could be crushing for their confidence - opening the door for Robbie Neilson and his team to take advantage.
"In terms of preparation it's not ideal because they're having to turn things around pretty quickly," he said on BBC Sportscene. "But I think the result on Wednesday night will have a big bearing.
"If Rangers win against Eintracht Frankfurt then the energy and adrenaline will be there.
"Whereas if they come away with a defeat, that could be psychologically difficult to raise the team.
"Although I've got to be honest, any adversity they've faced this season, they have reacted pretty well.
"But the quick turnaround on the back of a defeat going into the Scottish Cup Final could prove pivotal.
"Wednesday night's going to be a real game-changer with regards to whether Hearts can lift the trophy."
