Michael Skubala must be given 'huge' credit after Manchester United draw

TalkSPORT pundits Jamie O'Hara and Jason Cundy have highlighted how proud Leeds United interim manager Michael Skubala will be of his players' performances after their 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

The Whites got off to the best possible start when Willy Gnonto netted after just 57 seconds before an own goal from Raphael Varane following Crysencio Summerville's cross sent them 2-0 up three minutes after halftime.

But they were unable to hold on after Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho came up with goals within eight minutes of each other meaning the points were shared at Old Trafford.

Cundy claimed that the Whites staff should be given huge props for the job they did to take a point away from Erik ten Hag's men as he said on talkSPORT's The Sports Bar show.

"I think you need to give all of the backroom staff that are now the managers a huge amount of credit. They didn't know they were going to be in this position last week, let alone managing against Erik ten Hag and Manchester United tonight!

"Everyone at Leeds needs a huge amount of credit, all the staff, all the players, it felt a little bit like the pressure was off them. There was a clear difference there tonight, they just played their game - and he's [Michael Skubala] has got to take some credit for that."

O'Hara nodded his head in agreement and chimed in, saying: "He'll be proud of them today, won't he? The way they've gone out there and put in a performance like that?"

"Oh, certainly. Incredibly, incredibly proud," Cundy replied.
