Michael Owen poses at Royal Ascot after daughter Gemma makes crude horse comment on ITV Love Island

Michael Owen has been pictured at Royal Ascot after his daughter Gemma Owen caused a stir with a crude comment on Love Island. The former Liverpool, Manchester United and England striker looked super-smart in a three-piece suit and black top hat at the famous horse-racing event.

"Best week of the year'" the footballing star said alongside a photo of himself looking dapper. He stared the photo a day after his daughter Gemma, 19, made a startling admission during a frank chat with her fellow Islanders on the ITV2 dating contest.

Team GB dressage champion Gemma made the eye-opening claim that she'd lick a horse's a*** for £2,000. Afia Tonkmor asked the girls if they would "lick a pig's b** h***" for £2,000." She said: "I'd do like ... a horse's a*** is clean," before explaining "they only eat grass really."

Paige Thorne exclaimed "It’s humongous." And before the conversation could continue the girls were interrupted by a text alert. But the comments came flooding in on Twitter.

@Sayers33 tweeted: "Gemma's managed to tell the islanders she'd lick a horse's a*** before she's told them her dad's Michael Owen, fair play." @urlocalsag asked: "So are we gonna talk about the fact that Gemma said she’d eat a horse’s a** for two bags?"

@QueenKat_S said: "Obsessed with Gemma saying she’d lick a horses a***." @Ruffbinta asked: "Did Gemma just say she’d lick a horses a*** for £2k?" And @beyhlani said with a crying meme: "Sorry did Gemma just say she would lick a horses a***????"

Michael, 42, has previously revealed his pride over his daughter's Love Island journey so far on social media. One fan @DonnyScouse said: "To be fair she hasn’t put a foot wrong, she’s a very mature 19 year old, she knows dads watching."

And Michael responded by saying "thanks Jacky" with a thumbs-up emoji. The TV pundit also responded with a 'correct'' emoji when another Love Island viewer @audiijustin commented on talk that Gemma is yet to mention on the show who her dad is.

"She’s really good because she’s kept who her family are to herself instead of just trying to use it to win people over. I respect that," they said.
