Michael Owen addressed his daughter Gemma's Love Island experience in a four-word message.
Gemma Owen and Luca Bish finished second place last night, falling just behind winners Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. The Italian stallion and the Turkish Delight embraced each other in tears of joy as they were crowned the Love Island 2022 winners and took home a cash prize of £50,000.
Despite placing second, Gemma has been a fan favourite from day one but was placed under a scrutinous microscope given the influence of her famous father. Michael Owen has been an extremely influential figure in British football, representing Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester United and the England national team.

Failing to make an appearance for the parent's evening episode, Michael has kept tight-lipped about the show in general. Following the final, however, the football legend finally broke his silence on his daughter's time in the villa as he sent her a short and sweet message online.
Taking to Twitter, he said: "She’s done us proud."
Twitter agreed as they flooded them both with their own well wishes, including one fan who added: "Was so mature for a 19 yr old well done Gemma."
Another said: "Yes she has!"
Gemma's mother and sister appeared on Sunday night's show to send their love to her after a long summer apart. They relayed how proud they were of her journey and they were happy she found love with her partner Luca.
