Two housewarming gigs have already been held at the arena, while comedian John Bishop will officially open the venue’s launch season on Tuesday, March 15. Then, on Saturday, March 19 award-winning band Royal Blood will be the first music act to perform at the venue.
McIntyre, as arguably the biggest name in British stand-up, is certainly one of the biggest draws the arena has booked thus far, and there is sure to be a great demand for tickets given the unexpected and last-minute nature of the announcement.
Swansea Arena confirmed on Monday afternoon: “Huge surprise show announcement: join the incredible Michael McIntyre as he tries out brand new material right here in Swansea Arena this April!”
The show will take place on Friday, April 1 and tickets will be limited to a maximum of four per household. Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, March 16 and you can click here to buy them. They will start at £27.90.
As well as McIntyre, other big-name comedy acts to perform at Swansea Arena this year include Rhod Gilbert and Rob Brydon in April, Bill Bailey and Rob Beckett in May and Alan Carr and Kevin Bridges in October.
