Michael Madsen’s son Hudson dead at 26 in suspected suicide

Actor Michael Madsen’s son, Hudson, 26, has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to officials.

Hudson, who was the godson of his dad’s frequent collaborator Quentin Tarantino, was on the island of Oahu at the time of his death, Metro reports.

The death by suicide was confirmed by the City and County of Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner to the Daily News Tuesday.

“We are heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief and pain at the loss of Hudson,” the family told the UK outlet in a statement from a representative for the “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill” actor. “His memory and light will be remembered by all who knew him. We ask for privacy and respect during this difficult time. Thank you.”

Hudson Madsen is at least the third child of a celebrity to die by suspected suicide in recent weeks.

Regina King last week confirmed that Ian Alexander Jr., her only child, had died. She did not detail a cause of death at the time but People reported that Alexander, who turned 26 last Wednesday, had died by suicide.

“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian,” King said in a statement of the “bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others.”

Sinead O’Connor in early January confirmed that her 17-year-old son Shane had died by suicide in the days after he went missing from Ireland’s child and family agency Tusla, whose “so called care” he’d been in. He’d been on suicide watch prior to his death and O’Connor begged her son via Twitter to not hurt himself.

In the days following Shane’s death, the Irish-born musician was hospitalized.

Representatives for Madsen did not immediately respond to The News’ request for comment.
