Michael Jackson's iconic white glove to go under the hammer

An iconic white glove worn by Michael Jackson during the Bad era is going under the hammer. It is expected to raise up to £200,000 at an auction.

The superstar was famous for wearing crystal-studded gloves on one hand throughout his career. Although the reason for the move remained unclear throughout.

Reports suggested Jackson had variously claimed it was for a health condition or because he felt it looked 'cool'. This right-handed glove, covered on the back with Swarovski Lochrosen stones, is being sold as part of a celebrity memorabilia haul in the US.

The King of Pop is said to have worn it while promoting the best-selling album Bad, which was released in 1987. The glove shows wear from where the singer would hold a microphone during his performances, according to auctioneers the Memorabilia Network

Jackson's Bad tour lasted 16 months from 1987 to 1989 and included 123 concerts for over four million fans across 15 countries. The lot is expected to fetch between £158,000 and £203,000 ($175,000 and $225,000) when bids begin on October 24.

Prospective buyers are able to bid using an online system and can visit the auction calendar at https://tmnauctions.com/. The sale closes on November 6.

Jackson was one of the best selling artists of all time. He died in 2019.
