The opportunity to indulge in a period piece and wear tights was a major factor in his decision to join the cast.
In a lighthearted manner, Douglas joked that his initial attraction to the project was solely due to the costume. He confessed, 'I've never done period [genre], so I wanted to see how I look in tights.' However, he quickly emphasized that the role presented a fantastic opportunity, describing Benjamin Franklin as 'a bit of a rascal.'
