During the recent House Intelligence Committee testimony, defense attorney Todd Blanche questioned Michael Cohen about the lies he had previously told under oath. Cohen admitted to making false statements during his 2017 testimony, leading to perjury charges in 2018.
Blanche probed Cohen about two specific lies he had told. Cohen acknowledged that his claim of ending discussions about the Trump Tower Moscow project in January 2016 was untrue. When asked about the second lie, Cohen stated he could not recall any additional false statements beyond those two.
Prosecutors also addressed Cohen's history of deception, highlighting the lies he had told before Congress. Cohen admitted to lying under oath and confirmed that he had provided false information to the special counsel during a meeting on August 7, 2018.
