Michael Chandler uses Conor McGregor's own taunt to question UFC star

Michael Chandler has used Conor McGregor's infamous 'who the f*** is that guy' insult to taunt the UFC star ahead of their fight.

McGregor is pencilled-in to make his UFC return against Chandler at UFC 296 on December 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Fans are worried the fight will not take place this year because of the question mark that hangs of McGregor's current status in the USADA testing pool.

All UFC fighters are required to complete a minimum of six months of mandatory drug testing before they are eligible to fight. McGregor is yet to submit a sample to USADA, but there is a possibility he could still be eligible to fight at UFC 296 as the six month window opens on the date of re-enrolment, not the submission of the first test sample.

In a Twitter video "No joke, where the f*** is that guy?" Chandler said: "Alright guys, you have all seen the news that Conor is not in USADA. There is 179 days left until December 16th which is supposed to be the last pay-per-view of the year. Comically, USADA shows up at my door today to add insult to injury. Where you at boy?"

UFC fighters can skip the mandatory six month testing period in "exceptional circumstances" and McGregor has previously insisted he could use the defence to fight by just submitting two clean tests. USADA shot this down in a statement that read: “While the rules permit the UFC to make an exception to the six-month rule in exceptional circumstances, when the strict application of the rule would be manifestly unfair to the athlete, our position, which we have made clear, is that Conor should be in the testing pool for the full six-month period."

Chandler has already been called out by top-ranked lightweight Arman Tsarukyan as the future of his fight against McGregor remains uncertain. Tsarukyan thinks the lack of training footage on McGregor's behalf is enough evidence that he will not fight at the end of the year.

“If you want to ask me, for sure I want to fight with Michael Chandler because it looks like his fight with Conor McGregor is over. He's got to fight with someone and I am here. I have a good win streak and let’s do this fight because I’m the youngest guy in the top 15. He’s the older one. I think for fans it’s good when new generation fights with the older generation," he said.
