Michael Chandler ‘Peeing Blood’ Following UFC 309
UFC 309 has been an gone, with Jon Jones successfully defending his UFC Heavyweight Title against Stipe Miocic. UFC 309 in New York was yet another successful event for UFC President Dana White, with the likes of Donald Trump, Bruce Buffer, Triple H, Joe Rogan and Elon Musk all in attendance.
The co-main event saw a lightweight rematch between Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler too, a fight which delivered once again. It was Oliveira who won the fight via unanimous decision, putting himself in line for a shot at the UFC Lightweight Title in 2025.
Following their fight at UFC 309, Michael Chandler has admitted in a recent interview on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast that he is currently experiencing the worst pain he ever has after a fight. This includes peeing blood and having a fully swollen body.
Chandler was dominated for the first four rounds of the fight, but did come back in the fifth round. This included slamming Charles Oliveira into the mat twice in the last round, as well as rocking the Brazilian with a furious barrage in what was a breath-taking finale.
However, it wasn’t enough as Chandler not only suffered the fourth defeat of his UFC career, but also a whole host of injuries.
Chandler Experiencing ‘Most Pain’ Of His Life After Charles Oliveira Defeat
Michael Chandler went into his UFC 309 bout with Charles Oliveira as the underdog with the best UFC betting sites, given that he lost their first fight back in 2021 and has also lost three of his last four fights.
That being said, Chandler put up an incredible fight, but is most definitely worse for wear now in the aftermath. Here is what the 38-year-old had to say following his most recent fight at UFC 309:
“I had a phenomenal training camp. We went to war, we did our thing. Body, the most pain I’ve ever been in my entire life. Like the most injuries I’ve ever had in a fight for sure.
“Peed blood, inflammation all over, my whole body swollen. I feel like, you know, my legs,” Chandler said on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast.
“I tested positive for blood, tested positive for going nuts. But yeah, so they had like a light tint and then the second one was like a beet looking juice. It was dark,” admitted ‘Iron Mike’.
Time will tell what Chandler’s next move is, but first he will have to rest up and let his wounds heal following UFC 309. Who knows, a fight with Conor McGregor might finally get made for 2025.
