Michael Buble's Saturday Night Takeaway appearance sparks confusion from ITV viewers

Michael Buble sparked confusion as he appeared on this week's Saturday Night Takeaway, with many viewers left saying the same thing within seconds of seeing him on screen.

After Takeaway was cancelled by ITV last weekend so the channel could show over three hours of Six Nations rugby coverage, Ant and Dec were back in the studio for another 90 minutes of TV gold. As soon as it was confirmed that Canadian crooner Michael would be joining them as a special guest, there was a lot of excitement from fans.

So as soon as he launched into new single Higher to start the show, social media was awash with tweets about him and his performance. But there was one thing that cropped up time and time again - the fact he was even on a TV show when it's not Christmas time.

One viewer took to Twitter to post: "Who’s let Michael Buble out in March?" Echoing the same sentiments, another wrote: "yo who defrosted Michael Bublé early??"

A third reacted: "I knew the clocks were going forward tonight but they just went forward 9 Months. Is it Christmas? Michael Bublé" On a similar note another tweeted: "I can’t believe that @MichaelBuble is performing, and it’s not Christmas! He’s been defrosted a bit early this year!"

After seeing another Twitter user telling Michael to 'get back in his cave' until Christmas, one of the singer's fans replied: "To all you d**kheads...no its not Christmas. Michael bublè is for all year round. Other Saturday Night Takeaway viewers were puzzled by the fact that Michael opened the show was billed as being the star performer for the End of the Show Show.
