Michael Bisping - 'hothead' Conor McGregor has 'fallen from grace'

Michael Bisping has defended UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall after a Conor McGregor outburst, calling the Irishman a 'hothead' who has 'fallen from grace.'

McGregor and Aspinall's issues stem from a recent interview where Aspinall said he had very little interest in McGregor's upcoming fight with Michael Chandler, saying he was 'over' McGregor and that if the fight got cancelled 'I won't be upset about it.'

Those comments led to a furious Twitter response from McGregor, who called Aspinall a "mush head rat" before threatening to kill the 29-year-old.

In a since deleted tweet, McGregor wrote: "Bum p****. Say sayonara to that gk deal kid. Starve you and kill you I will you f***ing disrespectful p****. Don’t ever speak my name in disrespect again. Mush potato head.

Taking to his YouTube channel on Wednesday, former middleweight champion Bisping defended Aspinall, praising the heavyweight star's character and insisting that he didn't mean anything bad by his comments.

Bisping, who has been subject to McGregor's outbursts in the past, also said that McGregor has a 'temper issue.' He also mentioned McGregor's frequent 'Tweet and delete' style, and mentioned how the former two weight UFC Champion likes to 'talk s**t.'

"Let me just say this first of all, Tom Aspinall is one of the nicest guys that you are ever going to meet," Bisping said of Aspinall before saying the Englishman had 'heavyweight champ written all over him.'

Speaking about Aspinall's comments, Bisping said, "If you ask me, that's pretty fair because McGregor has been around for a long time now and it's a long time since he was the double-champ and all the rest of it, and he has fallen from grace.

"Listen, McGregor's a hothead. We're all kind of hotheads. McGregor's a hothead, I'm a hothead. Lots of people in MMA and fighters and boxers are.

"But that's just the way it goes, that's the way it is."

In terms of a potential hypothetical fight between Aspinall and McGregor, Bisping only sees one ourcome.

"Conor is definitely biting off more than he can chew here. He's got his hands full with Michael Chandler. Picking off a six foot five heavyweight, not the best thing to do.

"But we know what Conor's like. He talks a bit of crap, he'll tweet and delete - he's done that many times - He's just got a bit of a temper issue.

"Would he want to step in there with Nathan Aspinall? A man who is 252 pounds. No, he wouldn't"
