Michael Beale provides Rangers injury update on John Lundstram

Michael Beale has provided an injury update on midfielder John Lundstram after he limped off against Ross County at the weekend.

The former Sheffield United man was pictured in a moon boot after the game indicating that the ankle knock could be serious.

But Beale has issued a positive update revealing that he will not be out for a lengthy period.

He explained in his press conference today: "Lundstram won't be available this weekend and should hopefully be back for the Livingston game.

"We had some good news on that one. He took a sore one on his ankle. He went to block a shot and rolled his ankle.

"At the time we were thinking we won't take any risks with it because obviously we had a particularly strong bench.

"Hopefully he will be back for Livi next week but he will definitely be back for the final at the end of the month."

On the rest of his squad, Beale continued: "Kemar Roofe is back in training, Hagi has had an extra week of training.

"For Kemar it was just about being pain free, then a bit of training. Kemar is looking sharp, hopefully, he can get a run of good health now.

"We will pick a strong team for Partick Thistle, there won't be too many changes.

"Souttar and Lawrence working hard and doing individual work at the moment. Their situations are just dragging out a little bit.

"I am delighted with the squad at the moment. Ridvan will be about another three weeks and I am looking forward to working with him when he returns to full training."

Asked if John Souttar has had a setback, Beale added: "Not so much. He needs a bit more in the tank I think, in terms of his general fitness before we throw him out in a game.

"It is alright training with us and doing little bits. We just have to make sure people react well.

"They are almost going through a pre-season again so there will be ups and downs. But there has been nothing to concern me."
