Michael Beale offers Rangers injury update with up to 4 stars facing fitness race ahead of Viaplay Cup Final

Michael Beale has several Rangers injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s trip to Livingston.

The Light Blues are playing their final league game before the massive Viaplay Cup final showdown with Celtic at Hampden and Beale admits one or two will have to be assessed following last Sunday’s Scottish Cup victory over Partick Thistle. Connor Goldson didn’t start, while new signing Nicolas Raskin is feeling some after effects of his full debut, although he will train on Friday.

Ryan Jack was a late sub but he’s also being treated with kid gloves before a decision is made. John Lundstram hasn’t featured since limping off after just 11 minutes of the win over Ross County nearly two weeks ago. The Scouser is now facing a race to be fit for Celtic after Beale admitted he’s involvement against Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Saturday hangs in the balance. He said: “Lundstram is touch and go for the weekend.

“Connor Goldson had a small issue and that is why didn't start last week. Nicolas Raskin had some minor issues after the game and Ryan Jack had a minor issue also. We will see how we go after training tomorrow.”

One player yet to feature under Beale is Tom Lawerence. The Welshman has been out since August with a knee injury. He was expected back in the New Year, but suffered a set back that extended his time on the sidelines.

Beale now reckons he’ll be back in a matter of weeks. But the Ibrox boss was reluctant to put a definitive date on his return. He added: “Lawrence is a player I have been impressed with in the pastUnfortunately, he suffered a long-term injury and he is someone I am really excited to work on when he returns. We are hopeful he returns to training in a few weeks. There is no exact timeline on this one.”
