Michael Beale has closed the gap on Celtic since he came in as the distance between his Rangers and the Hoops 'isn't as big now'.
That is the view of former Ibrox defender Kirk Broadfoot who claims there is no denying Rangers are getting closer in terms of performances on the pitch. The Light Blues, however, could not defeat Ange Postecoglou's men at Celtic Park last weekend in a thrilling 3-2 derby win for the champions. It meant the gap is undeniably twelve points between the two heavyweights.
Despite the title looking all-but sealed for Celtic, Broadfoot believes that the fact Beale has only lost to his rivals shows 'progress'. He insists the derby displaying showed things are looking 'pretty even' as Postecoglou's men are the only side that can secure a potential Treble.

He said: “I do believe there has been progress, 100 per cent. The only defeats under Michael Beale have come against Celtic, so Rangers are not dropping points anywhere else.
“There was a gap between both teams before Michael came in but I don’t think the gap is as big now – I’m talking generally about performances. Things look pretty even and that was shown at the weekend.
“If Alfredo’s goal had stood then Rangers probably would have taken something from the game. It can be either side’s game, on their day. There has definitely been progress for Rangers under Michael Beale and now it is about continuing that.”
