A man who staggered into a pub garden and died has been named by police.
Desperate drinkers and bar staff tried to save Michael Agyare has been named by police.
The 24-year-old was knifed near a park in Kingston and shouted for aid from drinkers and staff at he Albion Ale and Cider House.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody after the stabbing in Fairfield Road at 10.20pm on Friday.
London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were scrambled and attempted tp save his life but he died at the scene. A post-mortem examination at Kingston Mortuary on Saturday gave the cause of death as stab wounds.
Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the murder investigation.
A witness told the Standard: “He staggered into the pub and staff and pubgoers tried to save him. They are traumatised by what happened. They did their best to save him.”
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: “Our investigation continues with the arrest of a man but we still urgently need to speak to anyone who may have information about what happened on Thursday evening.
“It is really important that if you witnessed any part of this incident, even if you don’t think it was important, you please come forward and speak to us.
“My thoughts are very much with this young man’s family and friends.”
