When the Denver Broncos acquired Russell Wilson in the offseason, the team knew that he was going to bring a new personality to the franchise. And while Wilson puts sincere effort into the whole leadership thing, he’s absolutely elite at making that leadership look super cringey in the process.
Let the mic’d-up footage from Week 1’s game between the Broncos and Seahawks be the latest example of that.
As the Broncos were on defense, Wilson made a point to let the whole sideline know to shout “run or pass” in order to help out the defense. Like, it wasn’t just one time. He simply wouldn’t stop telling any player who crossed paths with him to shout “run or pass.”

“Come on. Commit to it!”
Of course, the Broncos defense almost certainly could not hear whatever the sideline shouted during an actual NFL game. It’s why they have signals and in-helmet mics. But Wilson needed the defense to know that they were engaged and helping out even if it was a totally symbolic effort.
As expected, fans had plenty of jokes for this video.
