A win is a win but there probably won’t be an uglier one — unless it involves Iowa — than Miami’s 14-12 ACC victory Saturday over Virginia.
The Hurricanes improved to 4-4 and 2-2 in conference play and the Cavaliers dropped to 3-5 and 1-4 after 4 overtimes.
Don’t be fooled by the Hurricanes’ total: Neither team found the end zone.

The teams combined for 14 punts. Five of the eight boots by Lou Hedley of Miami left the Cavs inside their 20.
There were 8 sacks and 16 tackles for loss, including 11 by the Hurricanes.
