Examination held in two phases
The MHT CET 2026 examination was conducted in multiple phases for different subject groups.
For PCB candidates, the first phase took place from April 21 to April 26. Students from the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) group appeared between April 11 and April 20.
The second phase was held in May. PCB examinations were conducted on May 10 and May 11, while PCM candidates took the test from May 12 to May 21.
Before the declaration of results, the CET Cell released the final answer key for both PCB and PCM streams on May 30 after examining objections submitted by candidates.
Understanding the marking pattern
The MHT CET follows a straightforward evaluation system.
- One mark is awarded for every correct answer in Physics and Chemistry.
- Each correct answer in Mathematics carries two marks.
- No negative marking is applied for incorrect answers.
This means candidates do not lose marks for wrong responses, a feature that often encourages students to attempt more questions during the examination.
MHT CET 2026 result: What score is generally considered competitive?
The CET Cell does not prescribe any official passing marks for the examination. However, admission trends indicate that candidates from the general category often aim for around 90 marks out of 200 to remain competitive during the admission process.
For students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories, a score near 80 marks out of 200 is generally viewed as a reasonable benchmark for admissions.
